Captain America: Spoiler Free Review

I just went and saw Captain America, and overall, I’m satisfied.

If you’re not familiar with the Marvel comic series involving the Avengers, you might end up a bit confused during the movie.  The enemy weapon/force is pulled from Thor, so if you’re unfamiliar with that, it can be confusing.  Overall, however, there isn’t much that will go over your head if you don’t know the stories behind the avengers.  Captain America just basically sets up stories for all the Avengers. It gives obvious lead-ins to other Avengers, which is good.

The actors were all suited to their parts. Chris Evans is sex on a stick. Oh my god.

His weight transformation was amazing, I learned right before I saw the movie that he actually got down to the skinny frame all on his own, it wasn’t CGI. Then, he bulked up by working out 12 hours a day. Omg. Just compare the two. He did that without CGI. Dang

*Excuse me while I drool all over the keyboard*

He kept the same humble/awkwardness that he had while he was thin, and also managed to transform it into the naive strength and drive of a young soldier. I was impressed

Hayley Atwell, who played Agent Peggy Carter, was absolutely breathtaking, so there’s a good balance on the eye-candy scale. She made me feel much less attractive, hahaha. She is BEAUTIFUL.

Dominic Cooper played Howard Stark perfectly, exactly like how he should be played. He was one of my favorites onscreen (besides Cpt America..)

The action in the movie was pretty sweet. No cheesy slow-mo, thank goodness. It was all well executed and well filmed.  There was a great mix of humor, action, romance, and sadness. The final line of the film almost had me in tears.

In general, I would say that it was very entertaining, and if you get the chance to see it, do it!
